Roberta Rose Kirschenbaum

DIRECTOR/Master Pilates Instructor, Reflexologist, licensed Massage Therapist (LMT)

Rolates

A native New Yorker, Roberta pursued a dance career here in the city before her many talents drew her in other directions. Discovering Pilates in 1984, she studied with her mentor, Carola Trier, a renowned protégé of Joseph Pilates. With that classical base, and in pursuit of a greater depth of knowledge and insight, Roberta proceeded to study with other Joseph Pilates protégés including Kathleen Stanford Grant, Naja Cori, and Romana Kryzanowski. She opened her beautifully renovated Rolates Pilates Studio, in February 2005, at the original site of Joseph and Clara Pilates where they lived and worked in NYC. Roberta treats every client with a personal touch that meets the needs of her diverse clientele, from professional New York City based modern dance and ballet companies to those recovering from injuries, to all those looking for the benefits of the Pilates exercise discipline and philosophies in their lives. Pilates benefits anyone, at any age. She holds a B.A. in Dance from Hunter College, an M.A. in Exercise Physiology from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is a licensed Massage Therapist (LMT), specializing in Reflexology. Roberta is also a graduate of Marika Molnar’s Dance Medicine Practicum curriculum, of Westside Dance Physical Therapy.

Roberta has trained with many of the direct protégés of Joe Pilates “The Elders.” To see their stories Click here

Roberta passes her extensive training and knowledge down to her students taking the Embody Teacher Training program at Rolates Pilates.
